I feel I should say why it's awesome, and I had the same misgivings as you have really, having seen reviews. You set it to 40% or 50% or something and you go there pretty much visually rather than by having a step be +5% or something. It just feels better to me, I know where my headphones should be and I turn on the amp and set them to the desired volume much faster than than when I had a traditional amp (I owned the dx3+ and I very much disliked the clicking noise).

It's definitely something to research before buying, I wasn't sure I'd like it but I'm absolutely sold on it now.

I'm using them exclusively wireless with kz's earhooks and I absolutely love them. I got them on impulse through a deep discount and I thought I'd wasted money, but they sound amazing to me since the iem is tuned for foams which is what I normally use.

I am just beginning to go into the earbud rabbithole myself, /u/o0genesis0o has a blog I follow that reviewed both the ff3 and the ff5, check this out.

I ended up ordering both the ff3 and the ff5 and kept the ff5 simply because of the mmcx cable, but I don't think it's THAT superior, so maybe the ff3 will be a better solution to you. I also ended up checking out the smabat m2s pro and the toneking dendroaspis but IN MY OPINION they didn't come close to the ff3/ff5.

There's plenty more IEM than earbuds, but there truly are excellent earbuds out there. I suggest you save your money and get either the Fiio FF5 or FF3.

No one can convince you that shoving things in your ear is normal FOR YOU. Find something you enjoy.

Yes I think we're talking about the same one. I bought it as okcsc wtd3 but I've seen something like it with different names. I bought it on the original okcsc store for about $50.

This headfi review is pretty much spot on. https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/okcsc-wtd-3.25958/

Go with low expectations and you'll love it if grado sound is what you enjoy.

I owned a pair of sr80 that I loved the sound of but I hated the cable so much that I ended up selling them. I missed them and at some pointed I ended up buying some knock offs from Ali express and I ended up loving them as much.
