We need more housing in general. Even premium units keep higher income folks from competing for other inventory.

People here could choose to build more houses, don’t blame people moving here for poor policy decisions they couldn’t have had a part in.

That’s like saying Disney would be dead if not for their massive IP + coming up with new animated princess musicals. Yeah, that’s why the company is really good at sustaining its core franchises and coming up with new mechanics every generation, because it’s profitable and no one else does it as well.

This feels overly defeatist. We came here from NYC in 2020 and post-vaccine my wife and I have been able to make friends by joining groups in the community — she’s taking ukulele classes, I’ve started going to a local game store each week to play Magic: The Gathering.

This is definitely a low population, low density state, but there are things to do in the community. Just needs some initiative and a pro-social attitude.

The housing shortage comes from not making enough houses, not who owns the existing housing stock.

It’s NIMBYism. We can make dense housing so that it doesn’t intrude on our beautiful land like single family homes.

Let’s see if that holds up if we keep making less housing than we need

We need more housing, especially dense apartments for young folks so they can live here after they graduate high school/local colleges, or we’re implicitly sending young people away.

Too little housing development -> continuous rise in the cost of housing that makes it difficult to lay foundations for your life

I will straight up shame them in person in a parking lot. I’ve had ice fly off a van and smash a mirror on my car. Could easily have been worse

Whole idea of having staggered primaries where candidates get “momentum” is ridiculous. Do all the primaries at once so people vote based on policy preferences and not jumping on a bandwagon.
