I like having a variety. Buy 2-3 pairs of the same kind. The reason is simple: it's easy to lose a sock. So, if I lose one sock out of a pair, it feels terrible if I didn't buy 2-3 pairs

I got a Kitchenaid hand mixer that I like. I did drop it and I think it's slightly damaged, but it still works. I actually like the cheaper one better; the more-expensive ones seem to be DC
Another nice thing about Kitchenaid is replacement beaters. However, I didn't buy the replacement beaters because they needed replacement. I bought them because there's beaters on standby.

The box will say. Bed, Bath, and Beyond is a good store if you have a 20% coupon especially

All-Clad, especially the USA-made stuff, is considered top of its class for stainless steel. It's expensive as hell, but also durable as hell. America's Test Kitchen didn't notice a huge difference between their 3-ply and 5-ply pans
