That sounds more like what I would call a "corndog". I always grew up with a pig in a blanket being a sausage wrapped in puff pastry or a soft roll.

A few of them are naturally bob-tailed, but the majority have their tails docked. It was originally because they were herding dogs, so docking their tails made it clear they were working dogs and allowed their owners to avoid a luxury tax.
Now it's just tradition, though with more countries making docking illegal, I'm sure we'll see more long, fluffy corgi tails in the future.
