I'm not from Washington but damn does this look like home. Probably because I live in BC right on the border of Ferry and Stevens Counties. Pretty cool part of the world if you ask me.

I'm not from Washington but have spent 30 years of my life a 10 minute drive away from Ferry County and have seen a lot of the dry side and that area really is the best part of Eastern WA.

I'm from BC not too far from Spokane and I've done a trip strictly to explore central Washington and while it was a cool trip I have pretty low interest in repeating it. The Palouse is super pretty to me but draw to visit it just cuz? Nope.
Side note: the dirt road that follows the Snake south of Clarkston on the WA side of the river down to the Grande Ronde is a super cool area.

Its a trip driving through buttfuck Central/Eastern WA and passing a grain terminal on the Snake River and thinking 'this site in the middle of nowhere is directly connected into the global economy by water'

I'm 37 and grew up and still live in interior BC, not far from Spokane. Wildfire season was always a thing but it was super rare for it to get really bad. Now it's really bad more years than it isn't. Its nothing like it used to be and I hate it when people bullshit like it's nothing new.

It would be suuuch an awesome thing to have salmon running up the Similkameen into BC, I hope the dam removal happens! Wouldn't be the first removal like that in Washington

Indeed it does! The Ashnola is another river that starts in WA and flows into the Similkameen before it crosses back into Washington. I got some good exploration in on the Tulameen last year which is another tributary that's all BC side but yeah, pretty cool river system.

Its almost entirely in BC but dips into Okanogan County for a bit before flowing into the Okanogan River.
The head of the Similkameen is directly adjacent to the head of the Skagit which also starts in BC.
