Which version, specifically? I have the pro 7-quart and have made lots of bread with it no problem. Also how old was yours? I know they upgraded the motor in the pro line about the time I bought mine, 6 years ago I think it was.
The tilt-head units are not built well enough for daily bread-making, and the bowl-lift 6-quart model is not in the same league as the pro line 7-quart, despite looking similar.

Maybe you should have cleaned it first.

They are very far from “Buy it for Life”. They are quiet, but their quality is lacking in just about every measurable.

I have “regular” legs and all mine fit just fine. I have noticed some of my Darn Tough socks fit tighter than my Smartwool ones in the area that’s where the ankle meets the foot, but it’s only in a certain style of Darn Tough and it’s really not that tight.

I wish I still had mine! I got a TI-89 when I started high school and was taking more advanced math classes and I don’t know what happened to my TI-83. I miss the built-in screen protector.

Dyson sells them on their website for the newer models, and you can always call their customer service to see if they have any for the older models.
This goes for lots of parts for lots of manufacturers. I needed a part for my Vitamix that wasn’t available anywhere online. I called Vitamix and not only did they have it, they sent it to me for free.
Always try the manufacturer even if their website doesn’t offer what you’re looking for. It never hurts to ask.

Did you ever think about replacing the battery instead of the whole vacuum? Not holding a charge is a battery problem. Hope you are least donated your old one so someone willing to get a new battery could get an awesome deal on a good vacuum.
I prefer Miele over Dyson and believe Dyson are overpriced, but they’re still great vacuums and batteries aren’t super hard to replace.

+1 scarves are great. I have a Cashmere one (not that cost effective but oh so comfy) that I’ve been using for years and it’s the best for keeping warm.
Though if it’s really windy, Gore-Tex makes a wind-stopper material you can get face masks out of and it’s like magic. I used those on my motorcycle to keep my neck from freezing and they worked so well!

Just popping in to add that I’ve tried so many of the “JuSt As GoOd As GoREtEx” brands and can confirm that no, they are not just as good as Gore-Tex.
Granted I live in the PNW and used to ride a motorcycle year-round so my stuff got a bit more wet (and stayed wet longer) than most other people’s, but it really opened my eyes up to how good the Gore-Tex stuff is. Nothing comes close.

Yeah that’s one thing that’s really frustrating about KitchenAid in recent years is they aren’t really straightforward about which models are built better than others. Unless you get the biggest pro model, you’re getting a small, not very powerful motor.
The “Professional” 500 has a 475W motor, versus the Pro-Line 7qt which has a 1.3HP (970W equivalent) motor. The motor in the Pro 7qt is not only more powerful, but it’s built different electronically.
