If they are in fact local businesses pooling resources then great and I apologize for trashing them. However, most of the ghost kitchen models are based on selling franchised cheap food based on celebrity cache or market research rather than an actual restaurant concept. Even a model like hatch can be pretty difficult for a small business to be successful in. I honestly don’t know what brands are in this location but I stand by the comment that ghost kitchens are soulless. Do you really think one location with the absolute minimum staff that is built by design to serve the gig economy is going to make good wings, burgers, tacos, dumplings, salads and sushi at all hours of the day? I think this is just the big-boxing of takeout to the detriment of local restaurants.

Yeah I think it’s a “ghost kitchen” meaning they cook menu items for several “restaurants” that are delivery only through grub hub etc. it’s being touted as the next big thing in restaurants. I think it’s just soulless capitalism.

And I would add that this applies to any part of the city that is easily accessible or visible from a street. And they use some hardcore poison. They sprayed all the cracks in a sidewalk near my house this spring and everything is still dead at and crispy. Like no signs of any weeds coming back almost six months later.
