As far as I know, there was a recent post in this subreddit involving availability in a co-op; I think this has sparked interest in why co-op housing is useful and its pros and cons.

Some libraries don’t post local tech online — for example, you can’t book the Cambridge laptops or hotspots through the website.

I don’t, but you could try calling the Waltham or Watertown libraries — both have a very dedicated “Library of Things” selection, and you can get a library card for the Minuteman Library Network (Cambridge, both libraries listed above, and several more) for free, even as a college student.

On this front, the public library no longer carries kindles, as seen on their website.

Cambridge public library carries it; while you can’t check it out, you’re more than welcome to make copies using the scanner
