I don’t want to alarm you as it seems you’re in a tough situation already… but can you check the name on the prescription bottles? If the name is yours, I would suggest contacting her doctor immediately and asking if you should be taking the pills. If they tell you yes, I would urge you to follow their advice. It may be that the pills are meant to help you deal with your wife’s… ah… changes after her trip and she’s just got you confused about things.

Sorry, forgot to mention that ergotamine is concentrated from the mold ergot… which grows on wheat… and is hypothesized by some to have contributed to the mass panic that surrounded the Salem witch trials.

So if someone was trying to produce LSD in that house and somehow involved the dark forces that process, well, you can see why I’m concerned for you. Please keep us updated!

You sound like a damn good cop. We need more like you.

But I would insist the hospital give you an extensive course of powerful antifungals. Specifically, I’m going to guess that this is some unique strain of ergotamine. If that’s the case, it’s really really nasty stuff. Like REALLY nasty. Totally setting aside the paranormal implications and the fact that ergotamine is the primary precursor of LSD, it’s also incredibly toxic and aggressive. So the good news is that the woman in your dreams may legit be a hallucination caused by Lysergic Acid compounds forming in your blood. The bad news is that, eldritch fungal horror aside, it could be much worse than the hospital realizes.

I mean… honestly… a steady source of really well paying jobs that you get to bring your a game for… being the official food truck of a hedonistic cult of eel people sounds like a pretty great deal TBH.

Though I would invest in chemical or magnesium based lighting backups and maybe a time lock for the doors, sounds like you’ll be able to afford it soon.

I mean… honestly… your mom seems pretty damn cool on a lot of levels. Based on how much she loved your father and yourself and how she respected your choices even after you freaked out (justifiably) over her situation. I’d be inclined to believe that she does actually only prey on the true (human) monsters among us.

You might want to find out more about what it would actually mean to accept the gift before you refuse it, though you’ve got time to think about it.

I’m guessing that Jacob (pre corruption) developed actual human emotions towards you. If he loved you, that’s beyond the scope of what a normal guardian would be expected to feel. When he was turned, that emotion was probably also turned and now resembles the sort of hyper-possessive and psychologically manipulative type of love that some humans with psychopathy or BPD have for their intimate partners. While that’s terrifying to consider, it also gives you an advantage in that it provides a way to potentially manipulate Jacob that a guardian might not normally consider. Once you’re sure you can trust Chris, you may want to mention that.
