FYI for the people in the thread commenting about the contrast / legibility - they “don’t know how dark the state will be allow it to be” yet. And it does seem like the shark institute is handling the design, they had someone paint the shark, etc, 3M probably just handles production.

Yes! When I did it it was necessary to show proof of international travel in the next 14 days. I had to go to Portsmouth NH because the Boston office had no appointments, otherwise pretty painless (except for the extra fee to expedite). They definitely said no walk-ins, and that’s why I skipped Boston to go to Portsmouth, but when I was there in the waiting room, they definitely were taking walk-ins… So maybe they say that just to limit it 🤷‍♂️ Mine was also a renewal versus a new passport, so not sure if that changes things…
