I was in an accident several years ago, other guy's fault, totaled my vehicle, nobody hurt.
I worked with his adjuster and he added to the overall settlement money the amount "I had to pay my friend for rides to work". Which equaled about a week's rental.
Took a couple of calls, but he was ready to close the book.

This is the direction to turn your attention towards.
Length of daylight on any given day varies by latitude. In summer, the farther north of the equator, the longer the daylight.

Who else remembers self-winding watches. They had a tiny, weighted ratchet inside that used inertia against your normal movement to keep the spring wound.

This.
Just clean the slot out to the depth of the existing, place a form board at the end, and then pour fresh concrete. Looks like 2 bags at most. Easy weekend project that'll get you out of diaper changing for a few.

Pictures make a difference.
Is the handle spinning on the shaft? There is usually a set screw near the base of the handle that may need tightening.

I'm sure it's location based, but I can get an insulation company to do the job cheaper than diy'ing. That includes the free rental of the blower.
