Former Armstrong tech support here. Get rid of their router if you can and get your own. Have them give you a regular modem. I fought with mine for years because we were told it was required for the Tivo service. I've been using a Google mesh system in my house for years. 3 devices scattered around my house. I've had no issues since I got them.
