I stop crying every time I buy a car and my sales tax is a couple grand lower.

I live just outside the city limits on the south side. My north property line is actually the city limit and the city has nearly annexed the property completely around me to add Stone Meadow. With that, I have a Springfield address and my children attend Springfield public schools. I can vote for the school board but not for city council or most city issues.

Yeah you just missed that one. They were open for a couple years. Not to rub it in, but they had an amazing assortment of soda and candy. I would have single-handedly kept that place open when I was a kid.

It does seem like a bad year. I think the sub-zero temps were really hard on roads. Spring repairs don’t start until the cold temps are done.

Mountain bike. I didn't want to pay $1500 for the light racing bike I wanted 10 years ago. I found an unbelievable deal on eBay for a bare frame ($85) and assembled the rest myself. A childhood of wrenching on my own bikes was an advantage of course. I think the total cost was $500 and most of that was the suspension fork. Its still going strong after replacing the chain and tires every couple years.

Yikes. I’m near the W Republic Rd location and they’ve always done a good job on the 4 sets I’ve bought. My FJ Cruiser tires stay balanced which isn’t easy.

Any Big O tire will get you in and out quick.

Working my way through some cubed radish kimchi from Seoul Market right now. It’s strong! Love that place.
