They’re making a come back and even bringing back Futurama. As a Simpsons fan, I for one, am here for it! I love The Simpsons!!
Also to answer your question fully, I feel like their role in last years fashion week and their collaborations with fashion industries is what is helping them make a come back.
Plus you have younger millennials, born from 1994-1997, depending which sociologist you ask) and Generation Z (Gen Z), born from the late ‘90s to early 21st century, again, depends on which sociologist you ask, that are finding the shows on streaming networks like Disney+ and Hulu and watching it along with Futurama.
Not to mention, The Simpsons did a lot of shorts with different shows and movies, like Marvel, as well as shorts with the youths favorite musicians, such as Billy Eilish, etc..
Their newest “Treehouse of Horrors,” which should air tomorrow, as they usually always have aired on the 26^th of October, but I’m not 100% sure, is a total collaboration with mixed animation, including anime, where they do a Death Note collaborate.
They are also bring back King of the Hill (also getting a reboot, but where they’ve grown up and Bobby is the main character); and Beavis and Butthead, which has already started airing! I for one am super happy to have something to watch during the winter when my depression hits it’s worse.
I hope that answers your question. Basically, in a nutshell, with streaming making their show being shown to younger generations who love it and their networking with fashion icons; Marvel; famous singers; writers, etc., they have blown up again.
Also, I forgot to add, their controversial shows, like making fun of The Smith’s lead singer, Jim Morrissey, and how he has changed and become a total hypocrite, also gave them a jump start. This was from last season, if I recall correctly. After all, there’s no such thing as bad press…well, at least for most people now days lol.
