Went out for what was predicted to be an amazing sunrise, only to find the clouds had moved in and completely covered the mountains. Stuck it out anyway and got a surprising pop of color just behind the infamous lone tree.

Was searching for compositions to shoot at bow lake and this scene just fell right into my lap as I was standing there. Taken in early October on the Icefields Parkway in Alberta, Canada.

It was a blank white sky so there wasn't much there

After a cold snap freezing all the moisture in air a thick layer of hoar frost covered the branches in the local woods near my house. I set off in the freezing cold to try and capture the beauty of it.

Like an 8, obviously the foreground was darker, but the sky was easily as vibrant, it was the most incredible thing I've ever seen and it really changed me
