If I remember correctly it’s right where the MTB trail diverges from the no-bikes-allowed trail, which goes through the pass pictured. So if I’m correct, you shouldn’t be riding it. But I may well be wrong.

And the new “improved” trail signage in the Wiss is so bad that you can very easily end up on a no-bikes trail even while making a good effort to follow the signs…happens to me at least once every time I ride there.

No chance it'll accumulate, the ground needs to be cold enough for it to stick at all, and it's going to be so warm in the all the days leading up to Saturday that even if it does snow, it'll all melt before piling up.

Amazingly, my lid lasted 2.5 years before getting destroyed after they flung it into the street. (Or maybe they flung it onto the sidewalk and the wind then blew it into the street...same outcome). And that was after being run over twice.

Never thought of zip-tying it to the bin like people mentioned. I'll try that if I ever get my hands on another lid...

A tip for not sounding like a noob: Philly does not have "sides," this isn't Chicago, there isn't a "south side of Philadelphia" or a "west side of town." It's West Philly, South Philly, Northeast Philly, etc.

Also, the blue line is the el, the orange line is the subway, there is no Metro.

If by "it" you mean "not a Trump presidency," then yes, we almost had that. Could have had it if a bunch of butthurt leftists had been more interested in doing what was good for the country and voted, instead of obsessing about posturing and ideological purity. But nope, hating Hillary was more important than hating Trump, and now we have a fascist supermajority on the Supreme Court, taking away more of our rights every year. Great job!

If by "it" you mean "Bernie getting the Democratic nomination," then no, the math was never there. People were kidding themselves.

And I voted for him in both '16 and '20, I just had realistic expectations. And even if by some fluke he had ended up president, he wouldn't have had the ability to usher in a progressive paradise, because as you might have noticed, even moderate policies like Biden's can barely get through Congress. In a country where rural states have massively outsize power in the Senate, you can elect the most far-left president you want, that doesn't get you any closer to Medicare For All or anything else. It sucks but that's the reality we live in.

Lol, don't even get me started on how many pedestrians will walk off a sidewalk straight into my path in the bike lane, while looking either in the opposite direction or straight down into their phone. While I'm obviously not going to victim-blame for all the pedestrians injured and killed by drivers, there are some people that seem to have a death wish or at least no survival instinct.

I'd argue bikes are way more vulnerable than pedestrians as they are (supposed to be) sharing the roadway with cars at almost all times, whereas pedestrians do so only at street crossings.

But it's not a contest obviously. All of us (and bikers/drivers are also all pedestrians at times) need to be protected from drivers.
