Reply to “Bike” lanes by TotoItsCallMtrRacing
Maybe she was only there for 5 minutes, but yeah, who dare block the JC sacred cow that is the bike lane. Frankly speaking, I am getting alarmed at how has gone all bananas for Bike lanes making very risky for pedestrian and driver at times. What percentage of the population do they benefit anyway? 2% , 5%? I live hear Grand street where they've put two oversized bike lanes which has severely constricted traffic flow and resulted in a few cars being side swiped because they didn't leave enough space for the driving lane.

Reply to Is it me or does the siren/noise pollution seem to have increased dramatically in the last few years? by Jersey-City-2468
A few years ago, a lady on the PATH to 33rd street asked me the same question, phrased in almost the exact same way. Then she handed me a Jehovah's Witness pamphlet. So imagine my reaction when I saw this on my feed .

I just got a $190 bill for a 1 bedroom. I am in one of the newish buildings downtown, the ones with the PTAC units. This year, I decided not use the PTAC in the bedroom and decided to get one of those oil filled radiant heater. Did it mainly because I didn't want like the noise. Also, I am on the first floor and my ceilings are 12ft so, the warm air from the PTAC just goes up. I have the radiant heater on all the time, but even before that it was normal to get bills over$150 during the winter months.

Reply to Should we sell our car? by hourlongflyer
"We are thinking we could use Avis/Turo for weekend trips, " .
Just think of the hassle of choosing a car, hoping the rates are not high on the particular weekend you want to take, having to deal with with Customer service representative trying to upsell you all kinds of insurance service , inspecting the car to make sure they don't blame you for any existing dings etc, etc and compare that to just getting in your car and just driving off ...
Also as other's have said, not sure if just it's a good idea to include depreciation cost unless your sole purpose is reach some kind of financial goal post to the detriment of everything else.

In JC, haven’t been back to those places much since then .One of amount was $16 , which I added $4 to round up to even $20. I was surprised when the credit card statement showed $22. Really touched a nerve since I thought 25% was already very generous. The establishment where these happened were all bars .

This is what I did in November for the second time after years of having friends to jfk . It surprisingly quick. What boggles my mind how LIRR a commuter train seemed to have more frequency reliability than PATH. There was a train roughly every 15 minutes between Jamaica and Penn station even in the wee hours of the morning

What's the point of making affordable when we have school board that is soon going to make it unaffordable anyway.
