I would strongly recommend against boarding a cat. It seriously stresses them out and is upsetting for them to not be in their usual territory. I’d recommend a daily pet sitter to visit and keep the cat home if possible. They would rather be in their home without you than in a strange place with loads of other people/cats.

Interactions like this were pretty much a part of my daily life in South Philly. It really wore me down after a while and it's partly why we're in Glenside now. The traffic is not as bad out here as in other nearby burbs, but people still drive like they've lost their minds.

It's more about hating things that are major intrusions into other peoples' lives. All of these events are huge headaches for people who don't want to deal with them and are hard to ignore.

I had a fantastic experience with One Love Animal Rescue, who are based out of South Jersey but have foster placements all over the area (we picked up our kitten from her family in Delco). They are thorough in their vetting, but it's pretty painless.
