I want to say I’m surprised, but after 2+ years of the Covid pandemic where thousands of people literally were dying each day, I know better than to think a human life has more value than a company’s bottom line.

A very special fuck you to Tim Doyle, vice president of the Maine Motor Transport Association, who said his group is opposing the bill because it presents too many “challenges.”
Yes - being safe is a challenge compared to being reckless and lazy. Doesn’t mean you get to say “fuck it” and put other people in danger. I’m so tired of these business/industry folks opposing the most common sense, mutually beneficial shit because it might hurt their bottom line a fraction of a percent. It’s how shit like the train derailment in Ohio happens.

Reply to Work at home jobs? by MammothCress8158
Like someone else said - steer clear of Rent a center. You’re going to be paying more in the long run. Look at Best Buy or Walmart or a big box store — often they offer 0% interest with credit card over a certain month. Just budget and pay it off before the promo term is up (and it’ll still probably be cheaper than RAC). As far as at-home work, I feel LL Bean has call center positions you can do from home (plus bonus: you’d get access to the employee store for cheap clothes/gear). Best of luck.

Reply to Is Fore River Brewing closing for good? by schilling207
I hope they come back too. They brew some of my favorite local beers and their tasting room is great. I feel like they fly under the radar compared to some of the other breweries across the bridge, but I appreciate they there one of the breweries that consistently has good variety and doesn’t just whip up 5 different IPAs and call it a day.
