No, I live here. I don’t know much about that I should look into it

For those who have lived in both DC and RVA, how does the frequency with which you see this behavior compare? I’m considering moving back to RVA but when I lived there this **** didn’t really happen and I’m wondering how bad it’s gotten

At this particular restaurant (sticky fingers) the service charge is not given to the staff at all.

I’m going to send them this post to hopefully change their minds. I won’t go back until the policy is changed.
Raise your prices. Don’t scam your customers.

There was a 4% service fee that you’d only know about if you got a physical receipt, or calculated the totals in your head. It didn’t even appear on the computer screen as you order or pay.
EXTREMELY hidden.

Blows my mind how few people understand this.
A year ago I got in a fight with hip city veg about their EXTREMELY hidden service fee. Through an email exchange with them, they disclosed that the DONT PAY TAX on the service fee.
Me informing them that was tax fraud likely played a large role in them dropping the fee.

I’ve seen a pig eat a man. In fact, I’ve seen many pigs eat many men. It was a bloodbath!

Ah ok. I took a look at the property tax sheet. While the ASSESSED value increased by 17%, the taxable part increased by….exactly on the dot 10%. I was confusing assessment with the taxable portion. Shoutout to u/rolo-lolo and u/Gumburcules
Sorry everyone, all this tax stuff is not my thing.
