I had a gay friend cry himself to sleep when he was elected. You cannot get an example of better individual than my friend. As a matter of fact, he walked me down the aisle when I got married. That's when I got really, really scared - for his safety and well being. We didn't know if he was gonna make it out alive at the end of Bolsonaro's 4 years.

That's how bad this guy is.

Fines when you arrive in the country, not being able to renew passports, among other things. You can abstain but you have to tell them why you couldn't vote. For instance, if you live in Utah and your nearest consulate / voting site is in Florida (just random states, not necessarily true), or if you're sick and can't go, then you'd have to send in a form with proof explaining why you didn't vote.

At the other end of the spectrum, you should see my husband's face when he found a single, lonely Happy Hanukkah sign at Dollar Tree. Happiest $1.25 he's spent in there.

We did a half Christmas, half Hanukkah display outside, as two incredibly non-religious adults who literally do it for the food and the presents. I imagine how the kids feel. Representation matters.
