You will usually come out ahead in the long term by getting solar in NJ as long as you don’t have too many trees shading your house.

However, it is generally most cost effective to get solar installed when re-doing roof or shortly after a new roof is added.

Some of the big buildings might have this available and include furniture. For example try Grove Pointe or Newport rentals.

These big buildings don’t advertise it on their website but I think some offer this service, especially for companies which need to provide housing to employees temporarily working in a different location for a few months.

You should be able to go after management company for loss of value as well but your own insurance will usually not help with that.

Sometimes body shops report the damage/fix to carfax anyway, so not calling police or reporting to insurance does not necessarily help with this. Also, you should be honest when you sell the car regardless.

To this end - I would suggest getting quotes from Carvana etc. today for your car with an accident and without and save the screen shots. That would help you negotiate with management company for loss of value.

The tax burden should be minimal - there is currently a 12 million dollar lifetime gift tax exemption (basically your family member can give 12M dollar away without having to pay gift tax) and generally the receiver of the gift does not pay a gift tax or income tax on gift. That being said it is best to get professionals involved as others has stated. The one downside to this is that the B and D trains do not stop at 23rd so you will be waiting for a subway longer on average.

I also find that walking out of 33rd street station is easier if they open both sides of the train, which they usually do. Just switch to the second side of the PATH doors they open and you will not have any any bottlenecks through the turnstiles.

But you are correct that the walk is a bit shorter. Also note that there are multiple ways to get from PATH at 33rd to the BDMF trains, make sure you are going to the right side when you exit the PATH turnstiles - do not walk the hallway on the left - the stairs on the right are much faster. It took me a while to find this shortcut.

I worked on 49th between 5 and 6th. I always found the path to 33rd and BDFM to Rockefeller center to be 5-10 minutes faster. It is a shorter walk from path station to BDFM and there are 4 trains to catch v. 1 to catch with WTC which means you rarely wait more than 1-2 minutes to jumb on a train.

I also use to skip the subway and walk quite a bit to save on the subway cost.
