Reply to Ways to meet people? by mildlytraumatic
Welcome to Springfield! If you let us know what interests you, someone can likely offer specific suggestions related to your interests!
Want to meet creatives? Springfield Creatives is hosting an event at Blue Room Comedy Club on Wed 11/16 and a holiday social on Wed 12/21. Both events should be good opportunity to meet a lot of other creatives.
Want to meet tech professionals? Springfield Tech Council is planning an event about social media on Thu 12/1. Their events have been drawing a nice crowd of people you could meet.
Want to meet software developers? Springfield Devs is hosting a holiday social on Wed 12/7 that will be a great opportunity meet a lot of other devs.
You can find most of the local tech-focused events on the Springfield Tech Calendar. Most of our local tech events are open to the public and free to attend.

We had a few dozen trick-or-treaters, which is UP from our normal 2-3 visitors per year in the past 5+ years! Everyone stopped by between about 6:30-7:15pm. I closed up around 8:45-9:00.
We are in a low traffic area, but we are always ready! We decorate our front porch and throw on an easy costume. Each kid gets a handful of mini chocolate candy bars. Each parent gets to pick from a special Halloween bucket with full size candy bars, dark chocolate, and mini adult beverages (50ml). We figure we might as well buy something we will enjoy if no one stops! 😂
I'd like to add to our outdoor 🎃 decorations, but not interested in buying anything that takes up a lot of storage space. We currently have a few pumpkins and fall/pumpkin themed decorations on our front porch, plus red flood lights on front of house (Christmas decor) and creepy music in front yard (portable speakers). I'd love to hear what others do to decorate outdoors for Halloween without buying big bulky items!

I ride my bicycle from Galloway, through MSU and downtown, to C-Street many Sundays each year as part of a recreational group ride. It is not feasible for our group to ride from Ozark/Nixa/Republic/Ozark/Rogersville/etc to the downtown area or C-Street. Galloway is very close to city center in comparison.

I’ve seen them at the Ozark Makers Faire and at Alamo Drafthouse. They have some great builds!

1984 Arcade admission increased to $10 per person. Includes unlimited arcade play. I think most pinball machines are 50 cents per game? If pinball is your thing, visit Pinball Map for 56 machines at 8 Springfield locations (including the 20 machines at 1984 Arcade).
