Reply to What are your "reading goals"? by basketsnbeer
I dont really do goals anymore tbh, instead I go by theme every month.
Last month was: horror stories and books taking place in October.
This month is Noirvember, only reading noir mysteries and series.
Next month is going to be Feel Bad Reads, the polar opposite of the Feel Good stories. And a heavy dose of non fiction.

Srry i shouldve specified that the not having room was meant for only the physical copies. But I don't have room for either in my budget.

I've stopped buying physical and electronic copies of books altogether. I realized that I don't have the room for them, I rarely reread books, and it's not a good way to save money. Now I get all my books from my local library.
That way I can still read, put them in my reading room to enjoy, and save tons of money.

Joy of Sex, my local library had a copy. I didn't check it out so much as I stole it for several months. I copied down whole chapters in my journal and then when I was done took it back and put ot back on the shelf. No one ever knew.

Reply to Greetings everyone! A lot of people say reading books is beneficial for you, though... by RaderH2O
Lots of fantasy and scifi have social commentary, 1984 being the one which sticks out the most to me. And by reading about people in similar circumstances to what you might read about in the news, you can learn to emphasize with them.
