Edgewood/Pawtuxet Village is pretty nice. It’s on the outskirts of the city (technically part of it is in Cranston). We love it here and haven’t had any issues with safety. I feel confident walking by myself as a young female and we haven’t dealt with porch pirates. Purchasing is expensive af right now but rentals are definitely in your price range.

Burn Boot Camp in Warwick

I don’t frequent night clubs, since a lot of them have violent crime surrounding them and I don’t dance, so I can’t help much on that front, BUT we’ve got some neat bars!!

Hot Club isn’t a club, it’s more of a dive, but it has a dope deck and is just so iconic Providence. It’s my favorite and they have surprisingly good food (basics like burgers and chicken tendies). They do have a DJ on the weekends when it gets later, too, so you could still theoretically dance. No cover fee.

Boombox is also a lot of fun, if you like karaoke. No cover fee but I believe they charge $1 per song.

EDIT: for food, not sure what kind of cuisine you’re looking for but some of our favorites are Los Andes (somewhat overhyped but good Peruvian and Bolivian — huge portions), Tallulah’s Taqueria (think Chipotle, but fresh), and Troop (funky vibe, dressed up street food — they usually have a DJ or live music on weekends, check their social media).

Not sure if it’s your thing, but we also have a lot of breweries. My personal favorites in the city are Bayberry Beer Hall (be warned it’s on the pricier end, but they also have good food) and Moniker.

As far as activities go, the RISD museum is free on Sundays and actually really well-curated.

I’d echo this. Edgewood (Providence or Cranston — we share a zip, 02905) or Pawtuxet Village (Cranston) or even Gaspee Point (Warwick) are all close enough to downtown to be easily commutable (no highway) but very family friendly.

We’re expecting our first baby any day now but would definitely be down for a brewery or something, once he has arrived!

Boombox is a great time, and they finally have a full liquor bar now!

Not a bar but I had a lot of luck meeting people through 21+ social sports leagues when I moved back. I’m not athletic by any means but there’s some leagues around here (I personally did dodgeball and kickball with MySocialSports) that place more of an emphasis on the socialization aspect.

Dr. G at Park Ave Dental Associates in Cranston is the best!! She is great at what she does and so patient/compassionate.

Coastal Medical has a large network and plenty of locations — they may be accepting new patients. I go to the Warren Ave office and really like it. I see Dr. Chaudary.

Alternatively, Lifespan has a primary care practice in Warwick that is usually taking new patients. My husband likes them a lot. He sees Dr. Siddiqui.
