Yes those are larch trees. they are very beautiful when they turn yellow but they last only 2 or 3 weeks once they become golden/yellow.

Yes this lake is approximately 10 miles away (4500+ ft elevation) from the trailhead. you need to hike another 10 miles to get back to the trailhead.

This is on the enchantments trail ... there are so many lakes on the trail that I don't remember the name of this specific one. More than 10 lakes on this trail.

Lottery is only for camping. not for a through hike... anyone can do through hike and I hope people see my post and do it. trails don't get destroyed by hiking. So long as people stick the trail and leave no trace behind everything is fine. :)
