You can’t win most of the time, but it’s important to never be spiteful and vindictive. It’s not as if your intention was to hurt her, but to try and get her to see it from your point of view and for her to realize you’re dedicated to her. If she has insecurities of her own, all you can do is support that. It’s not like your gaslighting her or being manipulative. You literally just brought up the fact that she’s being a little hypocritical. You can’t control her reaction, only your presentation.
