Thanks for volunteering your time to do this. Like you said, most people here are really nice, but any online forum can devolve quickly without good moderation.

That move doesn’t seem to have helped GE (at least judging by their stock price).

Fwiw - my assessment went up quite a bit too. But this doesn’t necessarily mean that your tax bill will go up. Mill rate will go DOWN for sure (although your taxes will almost certainly go up a bit, but not as much as you would this from the increase in assessment).

That link is really cool - thanks for posting it!

is also interesting. Massachusetts is really kicking Connecticut’s butt in terms of number of commercial solar installs.

Yup, more everything: nuclear, solar, wind, geothermal, biomass… and maybe a bit more efficiency/conservation?

Gotta admit - I really don’t understand how candidates think these signs will help them get elected. “Gee Bob Smith has the most signs, so he must be good! I’ll vote for him!”..?

Getting a bit cold/dark, but if you’re into running, there’s a group run at 6:30pm Mondays:

I went a few times this fall and usually 15-20 people of varying fitness, all really friendly.

I think Stamford is generally pretty safe, but I’d also agree that a lot of crime goes unreported. About a year ago my car window was smashed at ridgeway shopping area. I called the police and the officer pretty much refused to file a report. I would think statistics would be helpful in deciding what areas to patrol, etc.
