The anchor hocking lids crack. There are easily ordered silicone replacement lids available, but the original lids are not bifl.

If you have a Marshall’s or TJX nearby, check there. They often have seconds.

Baggallini! I have a 15 year old crossbody that is machine washable, etc. It is compact, the interior “wallet” style organizer keeps cards organized, it has a few zipper pockets that I appreciate, and it has been exceptionally durable.

A lot if the “newfangled tech” in modern vehicles is required by law now (safety features) so some of the stuff he will have to accept if buying a brand new car.
With that said, have you looked at Hyundai? I know three older folks with Hyundai sedans, and all love them.

Since you liked 50 First Dates, I’d recommend The Wedding Singer!

Depending on your use case (how rough you plan to be with it) the Lifefactory glass bottles are excellent. Wide mouth, dishwasher safe, multiple lid options, etc.

A few other people have mentioned Danskos. They do make waterproof shoes that are labeled as such. They also make patent ones that wipe up easily and are super cute; they’re essentially waterproof. If you look around you can find them on sale for less than $100.
Nothing leather or sneaker like will stand up to water or other fluids getting inside the shoe, unless you go with Crocs or similar.
Finally, if you want to spend coin on a good pair of GoreTex shoes, I LOVE my Salomons.

My dansko clogs hold up usually for about ten years, far longer than any other shoes, and I have a couple of waterproof pairs that wash right up.
OP mentioned getting water inside the shoes, though, which almost makes me think something like crocs would be better in that instance.
