Chiricahua has some of my favorite easily-accessible cool igneous petrology in north America.
If you walk up the Sugarloaf mountain trail and pay attention to the minerals in the rocks you can track the inversion of the magma chamber as it was progressively erupted. Great stuff.

Not at this scale Although they are likely erupted along some semi-linear fault, of which there are many of the island.

"lush" haha - only in Iceland would a thin layer of scrubby moss (grimmia) count as lush!

Half Dome is technically granodiorite, but El Capitan is made up of a true granite.
Other Yosemite features comprised of 'El Capitan Granite' include The Three Brothers, Cathedral Rocks, Elephant Rock, and Turtleback Dome.
