These AI are based upon human language that is so contextually oriented that most of it would be vapid at best or, more likely, meaningless at worst if taken completely out of context. We misunderstand each other enough to realize this. We even find humor in the deliberate misunderstanding of a serious phrase that becomes a joke.
I expect someone to write a ChatGPT bot that will earn one million karma points on Reddit in one month.

I have found it to be very human-like, giving different answers to the same question upon "Regenerate Response." Sometimes, it acts like it is rethinking the question, just like someone who gives a quick answer without much thought then providing a more thoughtful response when pressed further.

Reply to TikTok’s master plan to win over Washington — Millions spent on lobbyists, a billion spent on safeguards. Will it be enough to stay in the United States? (26 Jan. 2023) by marketrent
As the article points out, ByteDance may be flashing some cash but not nearly in the same league as other major tech companies. Frugality is a vulnerability in politics. If China got behind ByteDance and laid down some very serious PAC money, say nine figures, Congress would make TikTok the nation's video game.
