I am not up to date on subreddit characters and lore but I see this is his only post. I get why certain crime posts could be considered spam, but this is a serious crime in the heart of downtown. I don’t think there’s any logical reason for it not to belong here.

Your last post on RI sub is essentially a shit post. I don’t get why a real crime, with a real report, is considered unnecessary but your post is deemed worthy. I would totally bring this up with people because we spend time and work in the area.

I don’t understand this point. Reddit is a large news source, this was posted on the correct subreddit, and it’s important information. Not to mention this subreddit isn’t very lively. This isn’t fear mongering or a petty crime. I was glad to see this article posted because I am often in that area at night.

I think it’s bad in a sense that it will get worse before it improves, but definitely not on the levels of other large cities like others have said. But with that being said, I think homelessness is a huge issue that needs to be taken more seriously. It’s bad for the people living on the streets, bad for business, bad for the environment, bad for crime. I just don’t have a reasonable solution because rents are fucked and shelters suck ass.

I don’t think they were necessarily calling homeless bad. More the situation bad. The fact people don’t have a place to live (and that number is increasing) and have to pitch a tent in a park is bad - the people are not necessarily bad though.
