Wharton is a better option than Dover, too

I just realized that some parts of Rockaway have a Dover postal code/address but go to Rockaway schools and Morris Knolls. If that is the area you are looking at it is a really nice area and schools are good. It’s the area around Germania Park. That would be my first choice for that Dover/Mine Hill area.

Wouldn’t be my first choice. Check out Mine Hill - they go to Dover High but have their own, good elementary school program. Most people I know in Mine Hill send their kids to private school once they hit high school, though.

I lived there for several years and found it to be a nice area, but there were a lot of empty businesses and storefronts and it was getting a little run down. But it was after Sandy so hopefully that has started to change and rebuild.

I agree Parsippany might be your best bet. Those other areas you mentioned are very nice but generally, you won’t get as much for your money if you go east. There are really no bad areas around Morristown although there are sections of Morristown that may be less desirable. Parsippany has more apartments than most towns in the area so prices are a little lower there.

I’ve never heard of anyone doing this before. Does she know your plan? And why would you want to have a stranger - whoever happens to be on duty at the time - deliver your baby after building a relationship with your current OB? Are you taking all of your medical records with you? I would think the doctors who have privileges at the hospital you give birth in will give priority to their regular patients.

Don’t you need to go where your OB works or are you planning to change doctors?

No they are telling you West Orange and Bloomfield are better priced and safer than Montclair, not than E Orange.

My 80 yo mom moved to Florida and learned how to pump her own gas and does it all the time. Just took someone to show her once and she was good.

Even those who haven’t pumped gas can. It’s not difficult.

The parking next to the station is $10 cash. There are other cheaper lots in the area if you are OK walking a bit
