And they still don’t bother investing any money into conservation because they have those contracts from the 1800’s

And many crops they grow for human consumption are water intensive and not very nutritious

must be by location, i've heard some horror stories but haven't checked every single town

when i was in the army I visited a few states and met a bunch of people from around the country and a lot of places outside the northeast are pretty good to live in. many of the places I visit now have a bunch of good ethnic food too

the wealthy pay much higher taxes in the form of property taxes. some houses around me that wealthy people rebuilt are paying close to $50,000 in taxes a year

this is the same taxes creep i've seen in NY. same with MTA funding. they add new taxes and raise more and it's always the wealthy who never seem to pay enough and pay the most. or the MTA needs taxes from the rich or it will shut down and the taxes and fees keep increasing and the MTA is always in trouble with their big projects that are boondoggles

florida was nice until a few years ago when they allowed scam roofers to sue insurance companies into BK and now home insurance is like $10,000 and you need a new roof every few years and there is only the state insurer. the republicans there literally turned the insurance industry into socialism there

I'd move to texas if I had the chance or the western carolinas too

this year i'm putting ground cover on my grass by the sidewalk so I don't have to mow it and to kill off the weeds naturally. I have some clover I planted last year but not much and leaving less grass than before to mow

also planting ground cover plants for shady parts I tried to plant grass in but didn't take very well and too much trouble

you can also mow your grass higher in the 3 inch range to avoid the sun drying the dirt out

the closer you are to NYC the denser it is and no room to build any new housing other than apartments which many people are against. lots of people leaving NYC because of the schools and dozens of other reasons and bidding up prices

I’m all for conservation of water and I think the traditional lawn is a waste of money and resources but most water use in California is from the senior rights holding farmers who do zero conservation

the receivables thing is pretty old. back in the 90's a bunch of companies were selling a lot of stuff to the dot coms and other startups on credit and lost big when they went under and then when all that gear was resold on ebay and chapter 7 auctions

there are a bunch of private beaches in NY because they are on private property

Manhattan Beach in Brookyln. Seagate Beach you have to buy into the summer beach club which pays for cleaning and whatever. Long Island has a bunch of summer beach clubs that have private beaches you pay for. and some towns like Long Beach control their beaches and charge outsiders to use them.

whoever owns the property can charge for use of it
