You’re more immune to whatever viral variant you got. However you’re immune system can be a bit weak after gifting something. I also believe measles can completely wipe out your immunity to things. So not always immune to something just because you had it, but much like the flu, colds have so many variants you can have colds multiple times in a year. If any of that makes sence.
