I think for what you describe, wayland square would fit. I wouldn't live there, but definitely walkable, peaceful, plenty of cafes and shops.

I miss North's dan dan noodles. I should have eaten those every day for the month before they closed.

Really liked Gentle Giant. They are the only mover I've used who came in below quote and the crew was great.

Drivers and pedestrians and people on dirt bikes and in those batmobile things can be chaotic in their choices, but it's pretty rare that you run into significant traffic or trouble parking in Providence.

Roger Williams Park is a beautiful Olmsted-designed, huge park-I highly recommend for dog-friendly Providence visit. I would probably stop at Cafeteria Frias, near there, and get lunch to eat in the park. They have good sandwiches, pastelitos, juice, smoothies. There are a bunch of places on Broad street, which runs along the east side of the park where you can get dominican food to take out.

You will be fine. It's a long trip. If you have to wait at Kennedy Plaza, the close coffee shops are Bolt on Washington St and Small Point on Westminster.

Oberlin will be close by you. For a quick lunch, The Village is good-I work by the convention center that that's the lunch spot for my office. If you can get into Aguardente it is really good-I didn't want to like it because it has so much buzz, but but great food and atmosphere-it's about 2 miles from the convention center.

Maybe 10 Rocks-they do brunch and it's a pretty big space.

Ellie's does catering and would be great for this kind of meal. Maybe one of the hotels like the Providence Marriott downtown. Maybe one of the T's locations? It's tough-most places I can think of just don't have space for a party of that size.

I would go to any of those places with a toddler. In my experience restaurant staff and patrons don't have attitude about people showing up with little kids.

Reply to Do we have any discount produce places like the one in this post that anyone knows of? by ReverendEnder
Some options are Hope Market in Rumford: https://wesharehope.org/hope-market
RI now has Flash Food (you need to install the app) and you can get discount close to sell by date food. I think it's mostly through Stop and Shop, they usually have $5 fruit and veggie boxes
Project Hand Up in Warwick, but they fill your trunk, you must take all, and only some of it will be fruit and veg.

And at my job we would definitely do this for a new employee, we know how hard it is to get a place.

Do you know anyone in Providence who you can ask for a favor? I got my first place in here after my partner's ex-girlfriend's brother's best friend from high school went and took a look.

No prob! When my neighbor goes to Project Hand Up, she gives me the stuff she can't use, and I take the stuff I can't use to one of the pantries.

There are also free pantries where you can just drop off the food anytime in Providence in front of Urban Greens market on Cranston St and in front of Project Weber/RENEW on Broad st.

Sure. I like Providence because it's lively and diverse, Wayland Square seems really boring to me. I prefer my neighborhood which can be really loud and always has something going on-but we do not all need to want the same thing!
