I used to work in Rockaway near the mall and very often I drove to Dover on my lunch break to get food. So many awesome places. I used to get a coffee and a guava pastry from a bakery. YUM.

It was a Big Lots-style store a few years ago (American something, I think) but I’m not sure it’s anything nowadays.

La Banquise for 24/7 poutine; Au Pied du Cochon for a nice meal (pork/duck heavy); The Sparrow for brunch; Jean Talon Market, indoor farmers market; Portuguese roast chicken place near Parc Fontaine/La Banquise whose name I can’t remember

I always thought the voice was trying to be a knockoff Alvin (and the Chipmunks).

Hahaha yes
I was working in an office for my college internship and between tasks I went online to buy tickets to the 2004 Warped Tour in Englishtown.
I got to the venue’s website and didn’t realize my computer speakers were on, and the “oh ho ho ho ho” line blasted out loud as hell … just as my boss was walking by. Crap.
I panicked and closed the browser … Boss didn’t break stride or turn her head, but yelled in the voice, “RRRRRRACEWAAAAAAAY PARK!”

Ah, yeah, you’re right - Carton is in AH, Kane is in Ocean. We probably hit both that day.

Yeah, probably Atlantic Highlands because we likely started at Kane Brewing, lol.
ETA: Carton. Duh.

During our kid-free days, I asked to just take a leisurely ride south for my birthday (October). I forget if we started in Atlantic Highlands or Asbury Park, but we hugged the coast and went as far as we could until Rt 35 ended.
I would never do that in the summer, but during the fall it was very nice.

I haven’t been there since they rebranded it. Madame Claude was really good.

Agreed, it’s great. I’ve been there many times (not in several years though).

How’s Paisano’s nowadays? We used to go there a lot maybe 10-12 years ago, then we felt like the quality dipped so we haven’t been back since.

If you don’t plan on going through the bag during your trip then try a backpack. I have this one and like it a lot: https://a.co/d/0udpWoH
If you’ll be going through the bag during the trip for your coffee or a book or whatever, I’d do a cross-body bag. Going in and out of a backpack more than once is a pain. Baggallini is a good brand - maybe something like this? https://www.baggallini.com/the-only-bag/OOB760-BG.html
Browse in TJ Maxx/Marshall’s and I’ll bet you’ll find something.

If you can get a reservation at Chef Vola’s, I like that place a lot.
