Oh for sure on the Apple Care. I for sure have had to send in both Pros (the latest within a month of buying them) for static popping sounds. I think I sent in one of my first pairs too but I don’t fully remember.

I am on my fourth pair. I bought them a month before the new pros came out :/ hehe
So they were 1st and 2nd gen AirPods and two pair of 1st gen AirPods Pro.
My wife has only been through two pair in that time and she mostly upgraded from 1st gen AirPods to get the pro features. She still uses hers 5+ hours a day but doesn’t fall asleep in them or accidentally get into the shower with them every few months.

At about the two year mark mine start to have battery or sound issues. They are still usable so I give them to family but I am a heavy user (often 16+ hours a day) so for me they become annoying.

Probably not surprising as it would have included our biases to some degree. I wonder if it could then be asked to predict something outside of that in order to direct scientists to a novel research direction.

Though I generally agree with what you are saying, a single paragraph to explain it in lay terms is not 10x as long. Also, I feel that to some extent it is the social responsibility of researchers to make knowledge available to as many people as possible. This also helps them because where public support goes money often follows.
