I appreciate that (and have looked through it) but I’m more looking for people that have more direct experience with mental health providers in the area! It’s so hard to sift through a bunch of names when you don’t have any references point to these practitioners.

To be honest, it’s been multiple times with multiple people who’s names I don’t know. I’m actually leaving Makehaven for a number of reasons—they are wildly disorganized, people have disrespected equipment to the point it doesn’t work, and are very glib when it comes to problems being addressed to the point that it creates a very unwelcoming environment under the guise of it being very welcome. It’s unfortunate because I was very excited to join but I have had nothing but issues (including my card being charged additional fees). It’s honestly disappointing because it’s an awesome concept.

Some people didn’t get that message at Makehaven because I’ve gotten creepy looks every time I went there 🤷🏼‍♀️

I joined Makehaven about a month ago and I love it! I am also new to the area and they are super welcoming.

New Haven is a pretty small town so even if you’re in East Rock, you aren’t too far from much! East Rock is a super nice area, but if you’re wanting to be able to walk to the hospital, I would check out places near Edgewood and anywhere between Dwight/Park St. I ended up finding a 1 bed/1 bath for $1250. I’m able to walk to Smilow, and while you definitely want to keep your wits about you, I’ve never felt particularly unsafe. There are tons of food options in New Haven—I would go to The Pantry for breakfast and Prime 16 for a good burger! This will be my first winter in NE, so I can’t really speak to that, but so far the weather hasn’t been bad!
