Reply to Where to stay for a weekend in mid-April? (Ideally: stargazing/low light pollution, on a train line, scenic bike ride, tasty dinner) by t-shirt-questforlove
Vermont is pretty miserable in April. I wouldn’t count on dry bike paths, clear nights for stars or some restaurants even being open. Wait at least until early June if your want a trip anywhere like the one you described.

I used old lumber to build a container and lid in my yard. Compost goes in, it festers all summer, fall and winter and goes into the garden come spring.

Barre has tons of great restaurants. The Meltdown and Cornerstone are also fantastic places to eat in Barre.

Most campgrounds book out months in advance so I'd jump on that now. That said Little River state park/campground is pretty spot on for what you're looking for.

You'll need snow tires to get up the Bolton access road; its steep, long and windy. Don't be that guy with out of states plates who's holding up traffic because you can't get up the hill.

Reply to Winter heating cost survey: Last month how much do you pay, what source, how much space, and what temp? by Ok_Slice_2952
We've got a 2400 sq foot home. Top floor is heated by a pellet stove and works out to $100/month. We also have propane for the radiant floors on the lower level which works about to about $250/month. We keep it about 70 degrees.

Go to the Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury, look for IPAs from Foam, Four Quarters or River Roost.

Interesting. I saw this same family around lunch time at Hannafords on Tuesday. I was going to give them a few dollars but the more I thought about it, it was odd that the kids weren't in school and the family seem oddly well dressed.

I guess you could. Plenty of prep commute back and forth.
