I got a gorgeous orchid, stupid nice bottles of tequila and red wine, truffle salt, and chocolate. My boys did well this year. And a friend surprised me with a bottle of Buffalo Trace. It was my best Christmas in years for many reasons, but none to do with gifts. (Although I love them all.)

I’m trying to kill some pto so I’m off today, but can’t sleep. (Normal for me- terrible sleeper.) So I feel like I’m wasting my days off by waking up early. Thinking about treating myself to breakfast somewhere.

I was divorced about five years ago, and it’s been a bumpy road. This year, I am finally settled and it was so nice to feel like I finally had a home again for my family. We had the nicest Christmas we’ve had in many years. I am so grateful.

My minisplits are struggling to keep up so I’m using a couple of extra heaters as needed. It’s happening all over and with the holidays and number of people who need service, it may take an extra day or two. I’d try to do the best you can and show your landlord a little grace and patience. I know it’s frustrating- my kitchen was 50 the last two days and mine is actually working.

Still in bed because I stayed up way too late with my sons. I’m just enjoying knowing they are both under my roof, sleeping peacefully. We are warm(ish, anyway), well fed, healthy, and happy. Our almost 16 year old pup lived to see another Christmas. Today is a very good day, for which I am profoundly grateful. Merry christmas, everyone!

I do the same. I love 75% of my job which I can happily live with that percentage. My boss and my owner have high standards for our company, themselves, and for me. I respect that and it makes me want to do great work. I’m so grateful to work with solid people!

The phenomenal thing in my life is that after being separated, divorced, sending my two sons off to college, selling our family home, quitting my stable job, relocating to RVA, buying a tiny place of my own, starting a new job, and renovating my little place for over a year.. I am, for the first time in over two years, off work and happily puttering about my newly finished kitchen baking for my work team, new friends, and neighborhood pups I’ve come to know. So happy to welcome my kitchenaid mixer back into my life! And happy that though my life isn’t perfect, it sure feels like it compared to the last 7-8 years. I’m enormously grateful.
