It's less of an issue now with the netting but they did used to run down when a ball or bat went into the stands and make sure the person was ok and signal to what i assume was some sort of medical team. Plus break up fights between drunk idiots. So I guess it is kind of security.

They get away with it because you would never do it unless you really wanted to be there and watch the games. 81 work days a year on an erratic schedule where you might have 11 in a row then 3 days off, then 3 days on, then a 14 day road trip. Oh, and Thursdays and Sundays are day games so you couldnt have a day job, etc. I'm not excusing them not paying more money but its a weird "job" that I suspect you'd have to love watching the games more than doing the work to sign up for.

How so? The issues are that innocent people get put to death and the appeals process takes forever and costs way more than imprisoning someone for life. If it’s opt in then it’s just prisoners who want to die. I’m not sure what any of that has to do with systematic prison abuse.

I think there should be life sentences with a voluntary death penalty. Like, you kill someone you’re in jail forever but you can opt for lethal injection instead. The death penalty as it stands in too costly, unfair, and something from the Stone Age.

Ever since the public market left the terminal has been an empty turd. I don’t know what’s going to happen but I’d guess people making a trip to the strip aren’t going for chipotle, so if chipotle survives it’s down to the people who moved close the there anyway. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I don’t think one has anything to do with the other and maybe they both do fine or maybe the new stuff dies but I don’t think the old strip is going to be hurt by this.

If you’re ever going down 79 there is a BFS gas station just east of the south Fairmont exit that has 7 or 8 different brands. I have my favorites but I usually just grab the softest ones when I stop because they’re all pretty great. Then I always go pick up muriales since I’m off the highway anyway
