The most direct route is through Paul Revere and North Point parks, which is pleasant. Getting from MGH to the parks requires a walk along Storrow for a few blocks. Then from the parks to the Navy Yard is along Chelsea. The crossings can be bad, and it’s also just a lot of barren sidewalk next to heavy traffic.

That isn’t the most pleasant walk, but it’s a reasonable distance and safe. Biggest danger there is crossing the street at Washington and Chelsea. But! MGH has a shuttle service between the hospital and Navy Yard, which might work as primary or backup transportation depending on your schedule.

West End is a great place to live without a car. Walkable to both MGH and downtown for commuting. Multiple grocery stores within easy walking distance. Plenty of restaurants and entertainment within walking distance. The T is fine if you aren’t dependent on it to get to work on time, and West End is close to stops for all four lines, so you have alternatives when needed. I lived in West End without a car for four years, and my only complaint is the lack of “community” because most residents are only there for a few years during residency/fellowship at MGH.

Double check the location of that Airbnb, or the name of the nearest stop. The Braintree stop is not in Cambridge. The Braintree stop is on the opposite side of the city from Cambridge.

I was in your position 20ish years ago, graduating high school in North Carolina. I had the choice between a public university in NC, and a private one in Boston. You are way better off going to a UNC system school, then concentrate your job search on Boston in four years.

Edit: lol, nope. I just checked the shitty Brighton studio I lived in when I moved here is 2017. $2000/month for 455 sq ft, original 1960s features, and no amenities. At least there’s no broker fee.

I love Mandarin Oriental, but they reconfigured their schedule so appointments start at the same time (used to have some staggered times). It means the check in process can be chaotic, which is disappointing for a very expensive experience.

July should a be good time to catch a sublet from a recent graduate. OP, consider sublets starting in June as well. You might be able to negotiate a July start if they are having trouble finding someone, or you just cover the June rent and consider it part of the moving expense.

Small - 150 sq ft in a 800 sq ft condo, standard 8 ft ceilings. The existing run of cabinets needs a face lift (new doors, veneer, and hardware) but the bases and counters are fine. The appliances are fine for now, and I don’t need to move any plumbing. I want to redo floors and back splash, and add a peninsula, which will require a new branch off an existing electric circuit.
