Reading a lot helped me read faster and more complex texts. I'm literally the only person at my job who reads research papers, journals, best practices books. I use that knowledge to try to move the org forward. I think reading has helped my career in that sense?

I used to be a teacher and the amount of colleagues I have that never read Steinbeck is astonishing. A lot school curriculums just prioritize different texts. Generally people are not going to read texts, particularly older texts if they are not forced to.

My in laws bought this for my father in law when he was in hospice. It moved and purrs. It's great for people with dementia because they don't have to take care of it, since it's a toy and not alive.
