As a hardware collector, I refuse to vote. There are some far better consoles from days gone by that are not on your list, therefore the vote is skewed.... PS will win because its the current biggest seller. Simple as that, not actually because it is the best console.

The whole thread was posted just to create drama I expect.

Who honestly cares at this point? Are you really bored with PS5/Sx already? If you need your game tech to move that fast then move to PC.

Personally I hate the midgen refreshes and the Pro/X upgrades from the last gen. I get that both machines were underpowered at the start of the last gen, they advertised 4k gaming etc but couldn't actually manage it, hence the Pro/X upgrades. We do not have that issue this time.

Do you need people online to hold your hand for all your decisions or just this one? FFS its your PS5 if you wanna keep it then do, if you dont, then dont ffs.

I do really wonder how some of the people who post these should I do this or that questions actually get by in their daily life without being led by the hand everywhere.

Some people said buy the PS4 just because it's controller had Gyro and Touch capabilities. How many games actually used both of those things for more than just gimmicks, Not many if you think how big the library is.

Same thing with the PS Vita and its rear touchpad, another added control feature that was overlooked and then completely ignored by most games.

Can't say it will be the same for the new features on the PS5 controller but if history is anything to go by......

Its the same with all tech though. Take TV's for instance. Back in the 90's I could go buy a Sony TV and know it was going to last for years and years barring any accidents and it wouldn't cost me £3k. TV's today just are not designed to last that long and they cost more too.

Many of those 90's/Early 00's CRT tv's are still going strong today and used by many in the retro gaming community. We won't be saying that about the flatscreens of today in 20+ years time.

Personal opinion here, Dump the switch and keep the Series S, save up the rest of the cost for the Quest and have both. :)

Recently got my hands on a quest 2 and it gets used every day by at least one of me or the teens.

The Switch joycons will 100% start drifting eventually, if they haven't already. My Switch is thrown in a box in the loft as I have 6 pairs of drifting joycons now and I absolutely refuse to buy anymore. WORST NINTENDO CONSOLE EVER imo.

Cannot fault the Series X and Gamepass combo at the mo!

Those older consoles were mainly only supported after a new gen was released by a few third party companies.

I agree with the OP, when a new console is launched after a year or so its time for the older one to be left behind. If third party devs want to continue supporting it then that fair enough but the console manufacturer should move on to support the new one only.

The problem we have currently is that new games are still being heavily pushed by both Sony and MS on the OLDER machines. Once they allow the older machines to become legacy devices and stop making devs release the game on both gens then we will finally see some true next gen games.

It never happened back in the day because the next gen was always a major jump in tech, this time around the next gen is really just a beefed up last gen.

We had new games being released on PS2 and the same game being released on PS1, the consoles were so wildly different inside that the 2 versions would have been developed using two completely different devs/publishers and we would get a version of the game that was suited to each console and used it to its ability.

The PS4 and Xbone need to die (a horrible death) before we see the true potential of the next gen machines.

Dump their standard router would be my first suggestion. I have an ASUS one instead that gives me full control over my network. Also, Wi-Fi boosters can help in these situations.

Moving the router to the most central point in the house was what made sure I had decent WiFi coverage throughout tho..

XBox and PC complement each other if you also have Gamepass Ultimate. Thats another
option for you to consider. I have this and it's great to be able to share saved game progress between the two systems. If someone watching the TV in the living room i can play on the PC and carry on my game progress. Not all games are on both systems and offer shared game saves tho so there is that. All 1st party MS games do amongst others too.

I do also have a PS5 but I haven't actually played on it yet, it's still sealed. So, I can't comment on that side of things, other than to say personally none of the PS5 exclusives have appealed enough to me yet. Something will in the end and ill open it up and play :)
