Many share your concerns but it feels better to do something about it. Keeping gun violence out of schools & decreasing it in the community takes effort. Suggest momsdemandaction.org/events Also Moms Demand Action-RI on facebook. Right now an Assault Weapons Ban (They are increasingly being used in mass school shootings) and a Safe Gun & Ammo bill are waiting in the state legislature. They need our support. All my empathy to the concerned parents. How can can the kids of RI concentrate on their schooling & enjoy life if they don't feel safe?

watch out for this, RI has a higher income threshold on SS for accepting people on Medicaid. That is you could qualify for Medicaid in Mass & not in RI, I tried to ask RI Medicaid if I would qualify before I moved but they refused to tell me. The Point a service of the United Way working for the Providence dept of Elder Affairs helped me sign up for an appropriate insurance. The worst part was trying to get a new primary care MD. There is a PCP shortage in RI. About 40 doctors told me they were not taking new patients. I found 1 Dr. at Charter Care on line who might accept new patients, When I called the secretary dropped my call (that happened a lot) but I went straight to the office & got that appt after 2 months of trying. By all means keep your Mass Drs but if Mass Health finds out you've moved out of state it's over.

Nah RI doesn't want subways, with climate change & storms subway tunnels flood. Like NYC's do & Boston's is always at risk at the Aquarium stop. Are there people in RI who consider how RI should protect against climate change? I read the Army Corp of Engineers is studying if the hurricane barrier can withstand rising ocean.

Past 2 nights it's been a pretty blue. In 6 months I have not met a single RIslander who knows meaning of the color scheme in general. I find it humorous but the capitol is pretty

you are in luck. Providence public library has Spanish classes evenings at community libraries for 25$ donations or what you can afford. Beginner classes restarting Jan 11 but they also can direct you to intermediate classes. You are right duolingo is a little bit of fun but much better if combined with real classes.

not exactly. senator Ciccone staff enthusiastically said yes to penalty for hiding involvement. It was a few hours after conti's resignation & they didn't know what to say about investigating him. If a number of voters call with same complaint believe me they don't laugh. I've seen Mass pol reverse policy and apologize abjectly on TV to unhappy voters. Another idea if enough voters ask McKee on campaign trail or on phone to reject Skekarchi's appointees to marijuana commission, McKee will rethink his position. Obviously Skekarchi has a hiring problem. Skepticism is just useless

Just a thought ,call house leader Skekarchi 401-222-2447, your state senator, your state rep ask their staff if they favor legal penalties for hiding involvement in a marijuana business (no penalty now). Ask them if they would start a legislative committee to investigate Conti. God knows what else he's done to influence gov for mob. I did & told em I'm voting.
