Isn’t that really more true for fresh water (I agree w you on that front). Lower mystic where op is referring to is tidal waters and the fisherman are going for stripers and bluefish which are migrating up and down east coast not hanging around in the river all year.

Are there any American cities that really do this well? When I compare Boston to a lot of us cities on the preservation of green spaces I feel like it’s not that bad. Charles used to be bad but seems to be in decent shape these days. When I compare Boston to providence waterfront - Boston is quite a bit nicer.

Haven’t been in a few years but I always liked it. Definitely an emphasis on hot yoga and classes were challenging. Always felt clean and comfortable there. Fwiw - I’m a dude.

Love atwoods and sorry to see it go. Hopefully this turns into a similar bar / venue under new ownership though. They just redid the inside and the back patio is perfect. I think someone will snap it up and put out a similar product.

I just really don’t think he deserves to be compared to Dennis and Callahan. Those guys were undoubtedly racist bastards. They said questionable things almost daily. Tony totally deserves criticism and punishment for what he said but the guy talks on air for thousands of hours a year and just fucked up.

I think you’re definitely right. We’ve been in a major cycle of urban growth and development over the last 15 or so years. Just a theory, but I think we’re actually seeing the start of a cycle where people favor suburban and rural areas as work from home provides more freedom in terms of where people can live. This cycle might be painful for urban areas at first but eventually could lead to more affordable housing and independent businesses returning to urban areas as chains follow the money back out to the burbs. Just a thought and will take a while regardless!

Guilia and Pammy's are top notch contemporary Italian spots. If you're looking for old school red sauce type spots - Greg's Restaurant on Cambridge/Watertown line is a good option.
