I think it has something to do to how mail was delivered in queens before it became part of NYC. Flushing is another one that it both a 'town' and a large area encompassing other towns (like I think jamaica).

I'm surprised there is not a bigger business in people who would hire themselves out with bed bug detecting dogs - that seems like a good way to know if you are worried you have them or have gotten rid of them.

I was talking to a friend about bedbugs and describing how I thought they acted.

They corrected me about their behavior, something like "They actually can move a lot faster than you described". I was like: "what makes you such an expert on bedbugs?". My friend admitted they had had bedbugs in their apartment like a year ago but didn't tell anyone about it.

I had been to their place a few times and they'd had parties there. I did wonder if I had known if I had gone over there.

Department stores are in bad shape. Was at Macys for the first time in ages recently looking for sheets. So many shelves had the same few sets of sheets where in the past each section of shelves would have been different ones - in other words - short on stock so creating the illusion that they're not.

It was probably abandoned but hopefully not and you can find the owner.

People in this sub work themselves into a frenzy about crime here - but I feel pretty confident this illness probably does more bodily damage to NYC residents than criminals.

Contrary to all scientific evidence, a lot of people have decided they have had 'enough' and have just dived into the deep dark waters of denial rather than continue to mask up.

I have really learned a lot about human nature from this pandemic and much of it is just depressing.
