Yeah, sometimes I longingly look at the price of real estate in my hometown in Ohio.
Then I remember the political signs my mom's neighbors have in front of their homes, and I save up a little more to hopefully move her out here someday too.

And here my brain was eager to hear of the latest disaster from Bon Appetit.

I get really good primary care, but only because I qualify for a special program through my employer. It's one of the reasons I won't leave, even though I've had offers with better pay.
I had to go to DHMC to check on a heart murmur (everything's fine), and by the time they could get me in for an ECG, my insurance's approval for the procedure had expired. My PCP chewed them a new one and got it covered, but seriously?

This happened to me once, although not super late at night. I snapped a photo and texted my neighbor to see if there was someone supposed to be working on her house and it turned out to be the pest removal dudes she hired.

I mean, I follow the Cleveland subreddit (my parents and in-laws live there) and reddit keeps telling me "Oh, you like AMERICAN MID-SIZED CITIES? How about Denver? Detroit? St. Louis? New Orleans?"
It's pretty ridiculous.

Still have power in the Upper Valley. I wonder if most of the trees here that were going to cause problems already came down last week.

I just make soups and freeze them in advance of big storms. Then you can just throw them in a Dutch oven to reheat.

Oh gosh, they are SO GOOD. They had a truck at a work event I attended last summer, and I still daydream about the super chocolate flavor, whatever that was called.
And they're entirely nut-free, so my coworker with allergies who never gets to eat at company shindigs got to have some!
