Detail and clarity go hand and hand. Detail exposes certain audio queues, listen to older Tool tracks between different sets of headphones, EQ whatever it is as well.

On a daily basis I listen to Bluetooth beats(the sports ones) at work, which is just convient and sounds pretty good. Then I get home and jump to DT990s, which are decent, just all around budget friendly and sound good. Then I jump to my LCDs, and it's just a leap in detail, clarity, Frequency response, etc. (Typically I don't even wear the DT990s anymore)

Planar magnetic headphones are just a different breed/experience. I plan on getting a pair of focals next possibly.

To many people overlook EQ and never realize what it brings to the table. The only thing I don't have to EQ is my JBL 305s, aside from that, I run EQ on my DT990s and LCD2Cs. EQ 9/10 wakes up every headphone to what it should be.

Edit: never listened to 660/6xx, etc never been a big fan of the Sennheiser hype I guess.

Definitely EQ them. The clarity is so much better once EQ'd. Can't remember the EQ I use for mine. But after EQ, I can't imagine anything sounding better. Maybe something with the mids and lows of audeze, but highs of a beyer dynamic?

I'd like to start picking up a few different things in the future. Kinda going to keep my eye on Focal ELEX's, maybe HD800s? Unsure. I know the for sure would be the Focals.

Just need to keep an eye on A/V Exchange and such.

I feel you on the LCDs, mine slide forward - that was kinda my point. I didn't realize the HD800s would fall off worse than the LCDs, especially when they're roughly 200g less in weight. Guess the clamping pressure? Never worn a pair of 800s.

You're telling me you can't look down with your LCDs on?
